Getting started
Open the app and choose your trades — no account or login is needed. Tap New sheet, add the job and what you actually did, then add people × hours, materials, equipment, travel or expenses. Photos, trade details and your company logo and public contact details are optional. A built-in fictional example lets you try everything first; it doesn’t count towards your free records.
Customer review and signature
Tap Review recipient’s copy. Your customer sees the work and quantities only; internal rates and notes are not included. They enter their name and role, add comments if needed, confirm and draw a signature. If they can’t sign, choose Recipient cannot sign — the PDF then states that it was recorded without signature.
The PDF
A finished record is saved as a fixed A4 PDF that doesn’t change. To change a finished record, use Create correction: this creates a new revision and keeps the original. The PDF is a record of work and quantities, not an invoice.
Backups and moving to another device
In Business settings → Backup & export, choose Export full backup and save the file somewhere you control. On the other device, use Restore from backup; the app checks the backup before asking you to confirm that it replaces the workspace on that device. Backup files aren’t encrypted and contain customer details and private rates, so store them safely.
Subscription
When WorkFiled launches, your first 5 completed records will be free; after that, completing new records requires Pro. Reading, exporting and backing up never needs Pro. Purchasing is not available yet.
Removing your data
Verified removal steps for iPhone, iPad and Mac will be published with the app. Until then, please email us with any questions.
